IN CHARACTER
Name: Peggy Carter
Canon: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Canon Point: post- season one of Agent Carter
Age: 26
History: link to marvel wiki
Personality:
Peggy Carter is anything but your typical 1940s woman. While she certainly fits in with her bright red lipstick and stylish clothes, everything else about her doesn't. While other women are off talking about marriage and children, Peggy Carter is on the streets, saving the world.
Peggy has always dreamed of adventure. Even from a young age, while other girls were having tea parties and playing with dolls, Peggy was out in the yard, getting dirty and saving princesses. When she grew up, she did her best to get close to the action. She served as a military nurse for a time, then went into codebreaking and analysis. Even her brother knew she was destined to have adventures, which is why Michael ultimately recommended her as a good candidate for the British SOE. She didn't stop there, either. She became a liason for England with the SSR, eventually joining and working full time there after the war.
As a woman of the 1940s, Peggy has always struggled with the fact that she's overlooked and her accomplishments aren't acknowledged. Peggy is very confident in herself, knows what she's capable of, and is never afraid to take on a challenge, but the men in her life don't see her that way. During the war, she felt useful and needed, and was surrounded by men that valued her. But after the war, she felt unnecessary. The men of the SSR brushed her off as "Captain America's flame" and nothing more, ignoring all her decorations and merits. Even when she was better and had more field experience than the men in her office, she was constantly overlooked just because of her gender. But she never let that stop her. For a year, she pushed on, basically working as a secretary for these men, determined to prove to them that she was better than they thought. It was this need to prove herself that led to her attempting to clear Howard's name. Her determination was at an all time high at the idea of everyone respecting her once she solved the case herself. When the men do find out, they're all shocked and surprised, especially because not a one of them had been the wiser. Peggy is resourceful and sly, and had used her skills as a spy to advantage. She played the part of the damsel to gather more information, to see what they had found, and even once "slipped up" to allow a witness to go free. In the end, she does indeed earn respect among her colleagues because of this, and while she doesn't gain any glory from it, that was alright with her. "I know my value. What anyone else thinks doesn't matter." It was never about glory or honors, she only wanted to be treated as an equal.
The people she cares about are very important to her. Even after nearly two years, Steve Rogers impacts her. He was the first to see her as an equal and treat her like a person, which affected her greatly. She risked her entire career to help him when he wanted to go save Bucky, never regretting her actions, even when it didn't look like he'd return. She thinks of him often, keeping a picture of the skinny him close by, often quoting him and using him as a guide for how she should act. He reinforced the value of life and how important it was to do the right thing, something she's clung to as she's faced with difficult situations. She loves him still, and as much of a struggle as it's been, she's trying to move on. Howard is another important friend. While she isn't afraid to say what she thinks of him, or even punch him when necessary, she proves she would do anything to help him when he's truly in trouble. This is evident as she basically commits treason to prove his innocence. The same goes for Jarvis and even Angie. She makes conscious decisions to keep them safe and out of harms way. She's hesitant to accept Jarvis' help at first, knowing full and well he has a wife at home he needs to return to. She even tries to distance herself from Angie, not wanting to risk her friend getting caught in the crosshairs of her work. It's ultimately a talk with Jarvis that helps her realize she can't carry the weight of the world on her shoulders, as much as she wants to. But she still does her best to keep them safe.
Abilities/Skills:
☆ Spy: Peggy is skilled at not only infiltrating and gathering intel, but she's smart on her feet, allowing her to plan out her strategies, adjust as the situation deems, all while concealing her true motives. This is evident by the fact that she fooled the whole SSR for months and worked behind their backs to solve a case without anyone the wiser. She can put together the perfect disguises and maintain false accents with ease, demonstrated by when she rescued Dr. Erskine, and multiple times throughout the Agent Carter television show.
☆ Hand-to-hand combat: Peggy can take on fighters twice her size and still come out the winner. Not only can she give a damn good punch, but she can certainly take one too. It takes a lot to bring her down. She's also not afraid to use her surroundings to her advantage, using anything she can get her hands on as weapons in her fights.
☆ Sharpshooter: She's very familiar with the use of guns. She almost always carries one on her and rarely misses her mark.
☆ First aid: Peggy spent a few years before the war serving as a military nurse, giving her a basic knowledge of medicine.
☆ Codebreaking: Before becoming a spy with the SOE, she served as a codebreaker in the early years of WWII. She was acknowledged to be one of the best they had, which allowed her to know Morse Code, and gave her the ability to break the Leviathian code without much difficulty.
☆ Secretary: While it isn't what she was trained to do, she spends more time than she cares for, doing secretary work at the SSR, such as doing and filing lots of paperwork.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ confident
+ strong willed
+ sly and smart on her feet
- eager for approval/to be considered an equal
+/- cares deeply about others
+/- willing to break rules to help others and do the right thing
+/- pushes people away to protect them
Items:
☆ dress and jacket (undergarments and shoes included!)
☆ wristwatch that can break into a safe
☆ handbag that contains: Sweet Dreams knockout lipstick, her pistol, and her picture of skinny Steve

[Everyone should be glad they missed the hot mess that was Peggy attempting to use the MID independently for the first time. She's had multiple people teach her, and while she was getting this hang of this strange technology, but it's still a work in progress with her.
All the same, the British woman is now on the network, address all those watching.]
Hello, everyone. My name is Peggy Carter. As is quite the number of people I've met, I'm from Earth-- or a version of Earth, at least. [It still makes her head spin, but she's come to accept this as the truth. As wild as it still seemed.]
The main difference for me is where I come from, it was 1947. Most that I've met here have been from more... "modern" times, I suppose you could say. What I'm wanting to know is if there is anyone else aboard facing the same...issues as I am. It seems unlikely that I'm the only one so far in the past compared to others, and it would be...well, nice, to speak to someone else that understands my predicament. [Steve understands, but he's still from 2015. He's gotten used to all this futuristic nonsense that she's still trying to get the hang of.]
