[Peggy's day had been a whirlwind, not only suddenly finding herself torn from her life and being trapped on a spaceship, but finding out half of what she knew was a lie. She had given up, moved on from one of the most important people in the world to her, only to find out she had left him, abandoned him to seventy years under the ice. She had wanted to make the best of it, because Steve was here and that was something she had wanted to the very core of her being. But it was a lot to process. While she embraced every moment with him, she also needed a chance to think and understand, so she decided to explore, alone, and to take her time in meeting other people on the ship and gather information. But even with ability to take things in stride, it was all just overwhelming.

After getting lost about half a dozen times, she finally found the room she was assigned, and while she was glad to finally have a moment to herself, it also gave her time to really think about the situation at hand. It was just so much. It was all so strange and unbelievable, yet here she was, having dozens of people tell her the same story. Them, she was less inclined to believe, but even Steve sang the same tune. She didn't know what to think.

And then there was a knock on her door.

She didn't move right away, her mind wandering and almost not processing it immediately, but she finally got up from her bed, moving to answer it. She didn't know who it would be -- maybe her roommate, or maybe even one of the many people she had met that day, but she honestly hoped it would be her tall and handsome super soldier.

Her heart skipped a beat when she opened the door to see him, the smile on her face so genuine as she made sure to take in every part of him, determined to memorize these precious moments she had with him again. She didn't know how long this would last, how long she would have with him again, so every second mattered.]
